What is Exsulite?

Exsulite is a cavity wall cladding system for suitable 1-2 storey residential construction projects. It can also be used as a remedial facade system for renovation projects with appropriate design.

What experience does Exsulite have in Australia?

At Dulux® Acratex® we’ve been designing specialist finishing systems for new construction for over 3 decades protecting some of Australia‘s landmark architecture and infrastructure projects and working with Substrate Supply Partners to deliver total piece of mind with appropriate coatings specifications. EIFS is not new to Acratex – in fact as a founder in the Acrylic Texture market over 30 years ago, Acratex was a pioneer in the use of EIFS systems designing and installing systems specifically for Insulation benefits as originally used in Europe. Acratex Exsulite has been a brand of Dulux for over 25 years.

How is it different from other walling systems?

EIFS (External Insulation & Finishing Systems) offer efficient installation and high thermal efficiency with strength and durability delivered by a fibreglass reinforced high impact strength multi-layered coating system.
The Exsulite (EIFS) System is a fully integrated (single supply source from cladding right through to external coating) giving you total peace of mind when installed by an Exsulite Trained & Registered Installer.

Why is Exsulite superior?

Exsulite is backed by Dulux and is installed by Exsulite Trained & Registered Installers for total peace of mind.

How is it installed?

The Exsulite Trained & Registered Installer installs the system once the building framework, whether timber or steel is in place. Installation detail is defined in the Exsulite Specification & Installation Manual in conjunction with the relevant Exsulite Construction drawings. A Certificate of Installation issued by an Exsulite Registered Installer provides peace of mind that the system as built meets design specification. Exsulite Registered Installers can be verified by their Exsulite Registration Card and Registration Number.

What QA systems are in place?

A Certificate of Installation is offered following project completion ensuring all proper installation processes have been followed. A Certificate of Installation issued by an Exsulite Registered Installer provides peace of mind that the system as built meets design specification. Exsulite Registered installers can be verified by their Exsulite Registration Card and Registration Number.

Is it fire resistant?

Exsulite-EPS is rated to BAL29 (Bushfire Attack Level 29), suitable for use in High Risk areas as defined in Australian Standard “AS 3959 : Construction of Buildings in Bushfire Prone areas”. AS 3959 divides bushfire prone areas into six bushfire attack levels (BAL), based on the severity of the building’s potential exposure to ember attack, radiant heat and direct flame contact as follows:

BAL-LOW – very low risk
BAL-12.5 – low risk
BAL-19 – moderate risk
BAL-29 – high risk
BAL-40 – very high risk
BAL-FZ – extreme risk (Flame Zone)

Compliance to standard is relative to the Specification & Installation of the Full System as detailed in the relevant System Certification.

Is it certified?
